Songs We Remember

The Quarrymen

How many music history buffs are able to identify the origin and importance of The Quarrymen? This Liverpool skiffle group was formed by students at Quarry Bank High School in 1956, following the immensely popular rise of Lonnie Donegan on the British music charts.

Skiffle was an amatuer music craze that swept teen age males across the British landscape. Rag-tag skiffle units began emerging all over the country. Having a good time was mandatory, musical talent was not required.

"Twenty Flight Rock" "Come Go WIth Me" "Puttin' On The Style"

"That'll Be The Day" "Baby Let's Play House" "In Spite Of All The Danger"

"All Shook Up" "Rock Island Line" "Blue Suede Shoes" "In My Life"
